National Master Assessors on Food and Beverage Services in hotel services

On 15th September 2015, The Ministry of Tourism and National Committee for Tourism Professionals has organized the opening ceremony on National Master Assessors on Food and Beverage Services in hotel services at New Angkorland Hotel which presided over by H.E PAK SOKHOM, Secretary of state and highly representative of H.E Dr. THONG KHON, Minister of Tourism and participated by development partners, trainees, and National distinguished more than 130 people.

Train of trainers program in food and beverage service will be held 07 days from 03th-09th September 2015, with a total of 35 trainees. Participants can attend this course who experienced in food and beverage services and at least 03 years’ experience in training after completing the training, they will be obligated to continue training to its staff and students in their respective institutions. The training has co-organized by ILO organization to join and develop human resource in the tourism sector to be more efficient, and as part of the Action Plan of the Ministry of Tourism to develop tourism professionals in accordance with National and ASEAN Standard and the implementation of the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on ASEAN Tourism Professionals in order to prepare for the integration of ASEAN Economic Community by 2015 to enhance and promote the capacity of those who are employed in the hotel services to became an ASEAN tourism professionals and can be mobilize in the region country in accordance with the spirit of the Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP).

Recently, the Ministry of Tourism has trained the National Master Trainers and Assessors more than 407 trainees and established a Cambodian Competency Standard Tourism Professionals of hotel Services in accordance with ASEAN Standard, and enforce in the vocational training school and other hotels to train the In-House training and through more pictures.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the ASEAN Secretariat has evaluated the ability of 15 tourism students who studied in accordance with the ASEAN standard which was the first step assessment recently in March at the School of Hospitality and Tourism PSE who can mobilize in working in Tourism sector.

The Human Resources Development in the tourism sector is a priority strategic plan of the Ministry of Tourism to promote quality of tourism services in Cambodia. For the future Planning, Ministry of Tourism will continue to encourage the train of the trainer who work in the tourism sector, as well as students - all tourism students to gain knowledge and competency in accordance with National and ASEAN Standard.
